Sylvain Malo, president
Cabinet Maker from father to son, passionate about everything about the world of arts, the scene and the new technologies, Mr Malo started his career by collaborating with many workshops of scenery and accessories in Québec. He completed different stagecraft courses in St-Hyacinthe as well as in electronics, electricity, drawing, lightning, and directing workshops at the ETS School. He was involved in the conception and realization of more than 300 artistic projects here and around the world.
Sylvain started his own business in 1996: Acmé Scenery Services. His vision, his ingenuity and his talent for gathering the best people together have contributed to an important growth of his business. Today it consists of a passionate team of more than 40 artisans, technicians and designers. He invested in new tools and in 3D technology, as well as in industrial design. He built a solid network of hundreds of suppliers and partners and relies on various highly specialized teams of subcontractors.
More recently, he succeeded in developing new markets by realizing many museum exhibitions. The culminant point was reached when he obtained the fabrication of the whole interior conception of the Canadian Pavilion for the Shanghai World Exhibition of 2010.
His and his enterprise’s reputation with Cirque du Soleil as well as with set designers, artistic directors and designers, designers, and various institutions go far beyond Canadian borders.
